- Tour Itinerary -
Arrive at Maun International Airport where you will meet your Penduka guide.
We depart towards the Central Kalahari Game Reserve where we set up our first night's camp, close to the banks of the dry Boteti River.
Enjoy the first evening under the African sky and around the campfire.
After breakfast we leave the Boteti and soon arrive at Matswere Gate, where we enter the Central Kalahari Game Reserve.
We make our way to Passarge Valley ( all these valleys are old fossil river beds now, with clusters of trees and grass). Passarge is set in the north west of CKGR and was closed until 10yrs ago to the public. The valley, which is smaller than Deception Valley, gets its name from a Swedish Botanist called Passarge.
The area is remote and not visited frequently but has good game concentrations if rains fell. Suricate or Meerkats can be found over and above the other Kalahari game species.
Overnight Passarge Valley
Early morning wake up, after tea / coffee we leave on a full morning game drive in search of resident game.
Return back to camp around 11h00 for a sumptuous brunch. After which there is plenty of leisure in camp during the heat of the day.
Late afternoon game drive, arriving back in camp with time to take a shower before enjoying sundowners and dinner.
Today we travel south via a couple of vegetated pans to reach the remote Piper pan in the early afternoon. Lunch is served en route.
Arrive in camp and enjoy the peace and tranquility around the campfire.
We explore the area on our morning and afternoon game drives with time to relax in camp during the heat of the day.
Return to camp after sundowners.
After breakfast we make our way due northeast via Lethiau Valley to reach Deception Valley in the afternoon.
We spend these two days exploring Deception Pan, and the adjoining pans.
This area is home to a number of Kalahari animals such as springbok, gemsbok, red hartebeest, brown hyena and lion, which we should see on our morning and afternoon game drives.
A leisurely early morning breakfast before heading north along the cut line to Kuke corner bidding the Central Kalahari Game Reserve good bye.
We will arrive back in Maun in time for your outbound flight.
End of your safari

We have just returned from an amazing safari with Willem.
We saw nature and scenery at its supreme best and it has left a significant mark on all of us.

Let me start by saying a huge thank you to you, Sally and Ann-Mari for the superb experience last week. The conference was one we will not forget in a hurry. Everything ran smoothly, the food was excellent and your staff are a pleasure to be with.
I was so happy to meet you Willem, because I knew that you had the best knowledge of the Delta and Botswana and would be able to share such amazing insights and stories with us.
I only hope that I get the opportunity to get a group together and travel somewhere else in the Delta or in Namibia with you again.

Once again we were able to travel through this part of Africa in the old fashion style: by mobile safari. Even after more than 40 years of travelling, I am still fascinated. But who else than Penduka Safaris are able to take us to places where you can experience it. You are far away from any civilization. This year we travelled first through the Central Kalahari, my favorite.
I would like to thank you for organizing a great safari.
It started with a flight over the Okavango which was one of the best for me so far.
The car was very comfortable. Enough space for everything, comfortable seats and a good view.
The crew was excellent, the food delicious and rich in variety and last but not least Mike did a great job.
What's your idea of holidays? To sleep in a luxurious bed with crisp bed linen, take a bath in a designer bath, go to a concert or enjoy the latest movie with George, or Angelina ?
Well - forget about it when you go on a Penduka Safari!
Instead experience nature at its best with people at their best!! Chris and his team made those holidays the best ever. We came back home as different people and with the longing to return to the special places Penduka offers.
